Local Service and Support

The Children's Early Years Occupational Therapy team work closely with a number of services both locally and nationally who support children with additional needs and their wider families. A number of these services have great resources available online for children, parents and caregivers that are free to access and have been included for you below.

SENDLO Wirral- SENDLO brings together information about the local services and support available across education, health and social care for families with children and young people aged 0 to 25, who have special educational needs and/ or disabilities.

Family Toolbox - Tips and tools for family life in Wirral- The Family toolbox aims to make local resources and support more readily available for all, offering an easy accessible one stop shop for all to allow families to ability to access the right resources or support at the right time.

Family Support - Koala North West- Koala North West is a charity organisation that looks after the emotional wellbeing of families, offering practical support and solutions to everyday parenting including breast feeding advice, sleep support and much more.

Newlife the Charity - Changing the lives of disabled children- Newlife offers a lifeline for families, providing life-changing and life-saving equipment when and where its needed. Alongside equipment, we campaign to improve the outlook for disabled children and change lives. We support parents, work with health professionals and strive for a future where all disabled children get the equipment they need and deserve.

Family Fund- The UK's largest grant-making charity for families raising a disabled or seriously ill child, on a low income; Offering an array of grants support services.

The Positivitree- The Positivitree works to improve the mental wellbeing of families with children who have additional health or care needs by offering advice and supports classes/workshops, wellbeing activities, online resources and much more.

Addvanced Solutions- Offer information, advice and guidance to families and professionals, equipping them with understanding and strategies to support the emotional health and wellbeing of neurodivergent children in the Northwest including a new hub in the Wirral.

Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) 0-18 - Wirral: Our Wirral 0-18 Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) service - formerly known as CAMHS - provides treatment and support to young people that are experiencing mental health difficulties.
