Arrowe Park Hospital outpatients - Adults

The phlebotomy clinic is located in clinic 5 in the main outpatient department at Arrowe Park Hospital. If you are seeing a consultant and require a blood test the same day, take a number and you will be called.

If you require a blood test prior to your next consultation you will need to book an appointment.

Opening Times:

Monday to Thursday. 8:30am to 5:30pm. Last clinic patient at 5:20pm. 
Friday. 8.30am to 5:00pm. Last clinic patient at 4.50pm. 

Arrowe Park Hospital outpatients - Paediatrics (children)

Children referred by a hospital consultant will be seen at Arrowe Park Hospital. We have a highly trained and experienced paediatric phlebotomist who will take the child’s blood sample.

If you are seeing a consultant and require a blood test the same day, take a number and you will be called. If you require a blood test prior to your next consultation you will need to book an appointment.

Clatterbridge Hospital outpatients

The phlebotomy clinic is located in the main entrance to the Outpatient Department at Clatterbridge Hospital.

Opening Times:

Monday to Thursday. 9:00am to 5:30pm. Last clinic patient at 5:20pm.
Friday. 9:00am to 5:00pm. Last clinic patient at 4:50pm.

 

Diagnostic Hub

There is a phlebotomy service that provides blood tests by appointment only at the Clatterbridge Diagnostic Centre. This is located on the site of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

Opening Times:

Monday to Thursday. 9:00am to 5:30pm. Last clinic patient at 5:20pm.

GP patients

Your GP will let you know if you need a blood test and will refer you to their dedicated service. When you are referred to the service, your GP will tell you if there are any specific instructions you need to follow before your test. It is important to follow the instructions as it may affect the result of the test if you don’t.

Home visits for housebound patients

If you are housebound, your GP can arrange for you to have an appointment at home. Please discuss with them if this is something you feel you will need.

Important: Your GP or healthcare professional will give you a form or order number when they refer you for your blood test which will let us know what type of test you need. Please make sure you bring this with you to your appointment.
