Temporary Closure of the Trust Library - From Monday 8th December

To support the ongoing recovery work following the Sterile Services Department (SSD) critical incident, the Trust Library at Arrowe Park Hospital will be temporarily closed from Monday 8th December until the end of January.

This space is being repurposed to allow clinical teams to safely review, organise and quality-check equipment needed for our theatres.

Using the Library area will help ensure this process can continue efficiently and safely, supporting our teams and ultimately our patients.

What this means for staff:

• The Library and IT Suite will be unavailable for study, training or bookings during this period.
• Library staff will continue to provide remote support, including access to online resources and
inter-library loans.
• Mandatory training and induction arrangements are being reviewed, and alternative spaces
will be confirmed directly with those affected.

We will keep colleagues updated if timelines change.
