e-ILS (Immediate Life Support)

e-ILS is a blended learning course developed by Resuscitation Council UK, focusing on recognising and managing deteriorating patients and cardiac arrest using a structured approach.

Course Structure

  • Half-day e-learning - Candidates must complete all pre-course e-learning and review the course manual before attendance. Those who do not may be unable to take part in the course.
  • Half-day face-to-face training

Who Can Attend

Suitable for a wide range of healthcare and emergency professionals, including:

  • Doctors and medical students
  • Nurses, midwives, and nursing associates
  • Paramedics and ambulance staff
  • Allied health professionals
  • Dental professionals

Learning Outcomes

  • Recognise and manage deterioration (ABCDE approach)
  • Deliver high-quality CPR and defibrillation
  • Perform basic airway management
  • Demonstrate teamwork and leadership

Assessment & Certification

  • Continuous assessment
  • ILS certificate valid for 1 year
  • CPD points: 5
