Volunteers

Make a difference this year

Enhance patient experiences at WUTH!

At Wirral University Teaching Hospital, we have dedicated volunteers that are here to help you. All our incredible volunteers make a real difference in our Trust.

Do you want to help the Patient Experience Strategy?

We are looking for volunteers to help us ensure the patients have the best experience they can whilst using WUTH's services.

We are seeking passionate individuals to brighten days, gather feedback, and shape the future of patient care. No prior experience needed!

Your contributions will include:

  • Being a friendly face: Be the smile patients need during their healthcare journey, lend a listening ear, help a patient by just being there.
  • Valued voices: Help us hear what matters through patient feedback, tell us what the patients like and what they want to change.
  • New Initiatives: Be part of piloting and gaining feedback on innovative patient-centred initiatives. Your insights will shape the future of patient care.

If you like meeting people, and making a difference then would love for you to help!

How will I know it is a volunteer?

They will wear the Trust volunteer ID badge and orange T-shirt at all times.

What other roles do the volunteers help with?

There are many roles across the hospital that volunteers already assist with, including: welcoming patients and visitors, administration, offering refreshments, befriending patients, distributing surveys, signposting, taking meal orders, tidying, delivering, making info packs, taking messages, chatting, comforting, knitting, broadcasting, filming, storing, packing, displaying and lots of other tasks.

What do the volunteers not help with?

Volunteers do not assist with clinical or personal care.

WUTH volunteers are friendly and want to help – just ask!
