The booklet can also be found on the Cheshire and Merseyside Women’s Health and Maternity App, which can be accessed via Google Play and the Apple App Store and can translate written information into 75 different languages.
The booklet covers the entire journey from pregnancy through to birth and the postnatal period and you midwives discuss it with you at each of your appointments.
Personalised care in maternity services can improve outcomes for you and your baby/babies by tailoring care to your individual needs, preferences, and circumstances and it helps you understand your choices, giving you more control over how your care is planned and delivered. It puts you and your needs at the centre of your maternity journey. The PCSP recognises that every woman, birthing person, and family is unique, with individual needs, which influence both the care provided and the choices made.

- help prepare you for your appointments, birthing options and postnatal experience
- think about what is important to you and your families, including how you are feeling and choices you may want to make
- get extra information on important aspects of your antenatal, birth and postnatal journey
