Induction of Labour Birth Outcomes 2024

In 2024 women were induced at WUTH for various different reasons, the most common reasons are:

  • Postdates (going overdue 41 weeks or beyond ) 19.86% (253 pregnancies)
  • Reduced fetal movements (RFM) 19.86% (252 pregnancies)
  • Pre Labour Spontaneous Rupture of Labour 12.48% (159 pregnancies)
  • Other reasons include Diabetes (gestational or existing), Growth of baby (either small, reduced, or large), Maternal Age over 40, High blood pressure or Pre-ecampsia or IVF, etc.
