Ice cream and bottled water for staff on hottest day

Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH) provided complimentary ice cream and additional bottles of water to its hospital staff on the hottest day of the year.

Ice cream vans were positioned outside Arrowe Park Hospital and Clatterbridge Hospital for staff to enjoy either an ice cream or ice lolly.

Bottles of water were also delivered to staff on wards by the Corporate Nursing Teams as temperatures soared.

The gesture by the Executive Team at WUTH was to help keep staff cool in the organisation’s busy hospitals.

Helen Marks, Director of Workforce at Wirral University Teaching Hospital, said: "The health and wellbeing of the staff is hugely important at WUTH.

"Whilst everyone works tirelessly for patients, we wanted to help keep teams cool on such hot day, just as they had been doing for our patients.

"Hydration is important during the hot weather, and I want to thank our Corporate Nursing teams for delivering the bottles of water to staff on our wards."
