UPDATE road re-surfacing work at Arrowe Park Hospital

UPDATE 29/03/19

As part of our improvement work, there will be road re-surfacing taking place in a section of the free patient and visitor car park of Arrowe Park Hospital.

The work, aimed at improving parking experience for our patients and visitors, will be carried out on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd April. As well as re-surfacing part of the car park, some of the car parking spaces will be relined.

Members of the public using the car park are asked to give themselves extra time as there may be extra congestion on the site over the two days, especially at peak times.

We apologise for any disruption this may cause to your visit and thank you for your patience while the work is being carried out.

UPDATE 27/03/19

There will be no access for vehicles going towards our Ophthalmology department or our SEAL Unit from 8am Thursday 28th March- 12 Midnight Friday 29th March.

This is due to the ongoing essential resurfacing work taking place on the roads surrounding this part of the hospital.

Please see the map below for more detail.

The works below have now been completed ahead of schedule. Thank you for bearing with us.

Essential road re-surfacing work will soon begin at Arrowe Park Hospital.

The work is due to commence outside the Emergency Department on Wednesday 20th March and is expected to be completed by Sunday 31st March.

This work will not affect hospital services; however it will temporarily change access for vehicles.

During the work the road directly outside the Emergency Department and Main Entrance will only be open to emergency ambulances. All other vehicles will be redirected with temporary bays for non-emergency ambulances and public drop off set up at the top of the current patient and visitor paid-for car park, opposite the hospital’s main entrance.

Janelle Holmes, Chief Executive said: “This is essential maintenance work to improve the access at the hospital.

“If you're planning to attend the hospital during this period, we ask that you take extra care and time.

“The area outside our Emergency Department and main entrance can get very busy so any disruption will be kept to an absolute minimum, however, there could be some congestion at peak times for which we are sorry.”

The safety of members of the public and staff using roads on our hospital site is paramount, during these road-surfacing improvement works, so please ensure you follow the signage.
