World Antibiotic Awareness Week
We're raising awareness about antibiotic resistance this week as part of World Antibiotic Awareness Week, which runs from 12th November to 18th November.
Antibiotic resistance is a serious worldwide problem, and it’s happening now in the UK. To keep antibiotics working it is important that they are not taken unnecessarily.
The World Health Organization has warned that antibiotic resistance is one of the greatest threats to human health today.
During this week we’ll be highlighting the serious issue of antibiotic resistance and empowering the public as well as health professionals to be part of the solution. There will be a stall in the foyer on Monday 12th November with information about the antibiotic resistance.
We can help preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics by being part of the solution. There are simple actions individuals can take to help stop the spread of antibiotic-resistant infections.
World Antibiotic Awareness Week is an annual event that raises awareness about the serious health issue of antibiotic resistance and encourages people across the globe to handle antibiotics with care.
We all have a part to play in helping to preserve the power of antibiotics.
