There are a range of NHS services available near to where you live. This may be your local GP practice, pharmacy or walk-in-centre. All of these services can help you avoid a trip to our Emergency Department if your illness or injury isn’t serious.

 

Upset tummy? Runny nose? Headache? Hayfever? Cold or Flu?

  • Think Pharmacy. For fast, effective expert advice. Your pharmacist can provide advice on common health problems and the best medicine to treat them. To find your local pharmacy visit nhs.uk/chemist
  • Participating Pharmacies can also prescribe in certain conditions as part of the pharmacy Minor Ailment Scheme

Being sick? Earache? Backache? Sore tummy?

  • Your local GP practice is best for an illness or injury that won’t go away. This could be a sore tummy, backache, vomiting or ear pain. You can find your nearest GP practice on the NHS Choices website.
  • For emergency GP Out-of-Hours (open 6.30pm – 8am; 24 hours weekends and Bank Holidays) call 111.

    Conditions treated at this drop-in clinic include bites, stings, burns, sprains, cuts, chest infections, ear & throat infections, urinary tract infections, minor eye or head injuries. The clinic also performs emergency contraception, dressings and removals of stitches and staples.

    10am - 8pm Monday to Thursday
    10am - 6.30pm Friday
    10am - 5pm Weekends and Bank Holidays

     

    OTHER WALK-IN SERVICES - Parkfield Medical Centre, Sefton Rd, Birkenhead, New Ferry CH62 5HS
