Clinical Education and Development
The Clinical Education and Development Team are based in Arrowe Park Hospital which is located on the Wirral, Merseyside in the North West of England. We run a variety of education and training programmes ranging from clinical skills to nationally accredited resuscitation courses and training in aggression management. The team also incorporates undergraduate medical students.
Confirmation of Clinical skill Competency Completion
This form MUST be completed once the staff member has been signed off as competent in any Clinical Skill to notify the Clinical Skills Department and to update their training records.
This is to confirm that the staff member has successfully undertaken a period of supervised practice and has achieved all of the components in the assessment tool. They are now deemed to be fully competent and can undertake this clinical skill independently.
You can access the form here
Once you have filled the form in please send it to wih-tr.ClinicalSkillsCentre@nhs.net
Facilities & Room Hire
The Clinical Skills Centre has a fully functional clinical skills laboratory and separate simulation suite as well as two seminar rooms. There is also a Resuscitation training room and Undergraduate Centre with IT suite. Room hire is free for internal events.
For details of room hire costs please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Attendance to most of our courses is free to Wirral University Teaching Hospital employees, however, there will be a charge for nationally accredited resuscitation courses such as Advanced Life Support, Paediatric Life Support etc. Please ensure the participant agrees to attendance and compliance with the Trust's Learning & Development Policy. It is important for staff to attend the whole of the session in order that they do not miss any core elements. Therefore if the participant arrives more than 10 minutes late, they will be refused entry, charged for non-attendance and will have to re-book. All staff are to sign an attendance register. Those that do not sign will be treated as not attending and a charge will be raised.
Please note that we reserve the right to cancel any of our courses with greater than 28 days notice. We will fully refund the cost of the course but will not be liable for costs including accomodation and/or transport. If a course is cancelled with less than 28 days notice then these costs would be refunded where appropriate.
If you cancel the course at short notice (less than 2 weeks) we will be unable to refund the full cost of the course unless we are able to fill the space. Every effort will be made to fill the place as we often carry reserve lists for our courses.
Any queries relating to course costs/cancellations or refunds should be directed to our administrator Sandy Deighton email@example.com or telephone: 0151 604 7718
