Health and Wellbeing Events
Health and Wellbeing Clinics are education events to give the person affected by cancer all the information they need to enable rehabilitation and self management. This may include the opportunity for advice about work or finance, physical activity and local services that offer help and support for people living with a long term condition.
Health and Wellbeing Events aimed to highlight the support available in Wirral for people affected by cancer was held at Clatterbridge Hospital.
The cancer health and wellbeing event featured short talks from health care professionals on topics such as coping with the emotional effects of cancer, consequences of treatment, physical activity and nutrition.
The event consisted of 101 patients and their family members/carers in attendance, plus 49 others, comprising of 34 people manning stalls and 15 other health and social colleagues from external organisation. So a full house of 150 people, plus our guest speakers and representation from nearly all our Cancer services CNSs and Cancer Services team on the day.
So far the event looks well evaluated, especially by patients and families. The next Cancer Services Health and Wellbeing event has been booked for the Education Centre Arrowe Park for Thursday 19th October 2017.
